Who is FindMyAgent?

FindMyAgent is privately owned New Zealand based company and is independent of any real estate agency.  Our mission is to help you to achieve the best outcome in the sale of your property.

Why should I use this service?

There are great reasons why sellers should use our service.

  1. We only recommend the highest performing agents in your area. Not based on a ‘friends experience’ but based on a consistently strong past performance and irrefutable statistics (not available to the general public)
  2. You have no obligation to work with the agent/agents we recommend.
  3. We go above and beyond by offering a social media marketing experience (at no expense to you!). This is additional marketing that we conduct over and above what the agent is hired to do.

All things considered, you will receive a lot more exposure to your property and a highly experienced agent to see you through the process and negotiate the best outcome – The main ingredients for successful selling.

Most importantly our service won’t cost you anything!

What is FindMyAgent's role and what is my chosen agent's role?

FindMyAgent’s role is to recommend a top agent for your sale. Once you sign up with an agent, marketing and sale details will be decided between you and your agent.  FindMyAgent has no part in this, but will organise complimentary Facebook marketing for your property.

How do you decide on the best agent to refer to me?

We start with a market analysis of your property. Then we research your area, current listings and historical sales of similar properties. Following that we do an analysis of the agents who have been the best performers in your area and surrounds, take your requirements into account, and then recommend usually one agent unless there are several stand-out agents. You are able to meet up with the agent or agents and decide who you would like to work for you. There is absolutely no obligation to go with any agents we refer. Our service is free and leaves you totally in control.

I’d like to get started – what do I need to do?

It’s very easy – just supply your name, contact details and property address and we will call you to discuss what your requirements are – we’ll discuss your property, your selling time-frame,  and any particular agent requirements. In the following few days we will do our research and get back to you with a top-performing agent recommendation.

Can you cater for my needs in selling my property?

We certainly hope to meet your needs – we ask for any requirements you may have to help us before we begin the screening process in the selection of your agent.

I want confidentiality. Will my information be kept private?

This is completely up to you – you are in control. There will be generally one or sometimes two agents that we will have vetted and recommended. Once we get back to you with our recommended agent, we will check your preference. Generally our clients prefer to be contacted by the recommended agent and we will let them know to contact you.  However if you prefer to call the agent when suits you, that’s fine, it’s your choice. Any agent we recommend will have indicated that they would like the opportunity to meet you and present their strategy to you.

Is this service really free?

Our service is 100% free for sellers and will remain that way.

Our mission has always been to offer a service which is simply a no-brainer for sellers, a big part of that mission was eliminated all costs from your end while adding significant value to the sales process.

Agents pay us a modest fee for referring you and for assisting in marketing your property (and indirectly marketing them also) via social media. See below to learn why agents value working with us.

Why a Top Performing Agent?

A top performing agent will be very experienced. He or she will have knowledge of the market in your area and will have strong historic performance data in your area. Working with a top agent is very important to give you confidence in this process and will give the best chance of achieving a premium price.

What is the cost to me?

Nothing. FindMyAgent provides a free service to you. FindMyAgent earns income once a property is successfully sold. At this stage, the agent we have recommended pays us a referral fee. This is standard real estate industry practice.

Is FindMyAgent nationwide?

Yes, we offer the same service throughout all New Zealand. We have access to the sales and performance data necessary to identify the agent or agents who have the most knowledge and experience and have achieved the best performance in your area.

Do I pay any of the referral fee?

No. Upon successful sale of the property, the vendor pays the agency the agreed upon commission as usual practice in real estate.

What if I don't want to go with the recommended agent?

Not a problem. Feedback is important to us and we will endeavour to find the best agent that will meet your needs. Please let us know if you would like another agent recommendation.

I'm an agent - can I request you to recommend me?

No. We are not a real-estate company. We are a service company that has recognised that in many cases, people sell perhaps their most valuable asset without the confidence of having a top agent, and subsequently often end up with a disappointing experience or outcome. We find and recommend top agents from independent real estate companies. We do not have agents of our own.

Can you explain the process in more detail?

After submitting your property details via our online form we will be in contact with you to ask a few questions. We will then start our analysis and crunch the data to find the best local agent/s in your area. The agent/s will then arrange a time to meet you at your property and when you’re ready you can choose to list with either our chosen agent/s or someone completely independent.

If you select one of our recommended agents then we are here in the background as extra support if you require at any stage.

Will the agent/s contact me?

I've already approached an agent. Can I still use you?

As the vendor, you are in charge. If you have not signed into an agreement with an agent, you are free to approach another agent or to use our services. Let us know if you have used an agent before as we will not include that agent in our screening process.

Do you work with specific Real Estate agencies?

We have no affiliation with any particular real estate agency. The top agent or agents in your area may be working under any one of the many agencies throughout New Zealand. We focus on the agent first.
