Privacy Policy

FindMyAgent Limited ("Find My Agent", "we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, how we use it, and your rights under the Privacy Act 2020 and the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007.

1. What we collect

When you use our service we collect the information you give us: your name, email address, phone number, the address of the property you are considering selling, and details about the property and your plans (for example timeframe and expected price range). If you call us we may keep notes of the conversation. We do not ask for or store payment card details.

We also collect standard technical information when you visit our website — IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed — through cookies and analytics tools described below.

2. How we use it

  • To contact you about your enquiry and understand your requirements.
  • To identify and recommend real estate agents for your property.
  • With your go-ahead, to introduce you to the agent or agents we recommend.
  • To set up complimentary social media marketing for your property once listed.
  • To send you relevant information about selling your property and our services. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To improve our website and service, and to measure advertising effectiveness.

3. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:

  • With the real estate agent(s) we recommend, and only after you have agreed to be introduced.
  • With service providers who help us operate — hosting, email, SMS verification, analytics and advertising platforms — under agreements that restrict their use of your information.
  • Where required by law, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

4. Cookies, analytics and advertising

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics, Google Ads and Meta (Facebook) tools, to understand how the site is used and to measure and improve our advertising. These may set first- and third-party cookies and may be used to show you relevant ads on other sites. You can control cookies through your browser settings and opt out of personalised advertising through Google Ads Settings and your Meta ad preferences. Disabling cookies may affect some website features.

5. Email and SMS

We send commercial electronic messages only with your consent, in line with the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out of SMS by replying STOP or contacting us. We will honour opt-out requests promptly.

6. Storage and security

Your information is stored with reputable cloud providers, some of which may be located outside New Zealand. We take reasonable steps to protect it from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, and keep it only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law.

7. Your rights

You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. You may also ask us to delete it, subject to any legal obligation to retain it. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).

8. Changes
